About Us
This garden mapping and visualization project was completed the summer of 2012 by the General Landscape Studies interns at Dumbarton Oaks, with the help of Paul Cote, John Beardsley, Gail Griffins and many others. We hope that the online resources we've assembled on this site allow you to explore Dumbarton Oak's famous gardens within their historical contexts and encourage further study in the work of Beatrix Farrand.
While collected images, maps, drawings and correspondence offer a glimpse into the evolution of Beatrix Farrend's design they are poor faxsimiles of the actual garden, and we encourage you to visit Dumbarton Oaks, as well as the Triangle Parks identified in the "sponsored research" portion of the site.
Please visit the official Dumbarton Oaks Website for more information about Dumbarton Oaks research library, museum, and garden.
