The eleventh/early twelfth-century Byzantine church was preserved until it was sold for its building materials in 1929. Only its south wall decorated with wall paintings and part of the apse were saved from demolition. The Archaeological Settlements of Turkey (TAY) Project found no trace of the church in 2008.
