The interior of the Byzantine chapel southeast of St. John Stoudios (İmrahor Camii), July 1944.
The chapel, which was occupied by “Surp distillery” when Artamonoff photographed it, was long gone by the 1970s. Pericles, the owner of the distillery, stands by the stairs. The man on the right (unidentified) might be a friend, perhaps from RC, who accompanied Artamonoff that day.
