Artamonoff climbed the derelict minaret to capture the east end of the building and the neighborhood around it. The photograph clearly shows the rearrangement of the sanctuary through the construction of a mihrab for the conversion of the church into a mosque. İmrahor Camii fell out of use after the fire of 1920; it is, however, currently being reconstructed to function again as a mosque.
