A basket weaver at work, [not dated].

Artamonoff captures a basket weaver in the process of making a handmade wooden basket, most likely in Tahtakale. The neighborhood is still a vibrant economic area with many specialty stores selling all types of products. Unfortunately today you are more likely to find a plastic basket made in China there than a handmade one.
