Stone mason at work, 1932.
Crouched over a large piece of stone, a stone mason is depicted hard at work surrounded by the debris of previous jobs. Artamonoff, a trained engineer, showed an interest in presenting the skill used in traditional methods of construction which were slowly fading away as newer construction methods and building type became more popular.
